XGA External SDRAM Display Controller

The S1D13513 is a highly integrated display controller capable of supporting up to XGA TFT LCD panels. With the flexibility of an external SDRAM memory interface, this low cost, low power device supports a wide range of CPUs, panels, and a camera port that can be configured as 2x 8-bit ports. The S1D13513 feature set and architecture are designed to meet the requirements of today’s embedded markets.

The S1D13513 features both sprite and 2D BitBLT engines designed to reduce the load on the host, while increasing the performance of graphics intensive operations. Additionally, the S1D13513 offers such features as multiple windows, alpha blending, gamma correction, and mirror/rotation functions which allow user configurability of various images on the Main/PIP1/PIP2 displays. S1D13515

XGA External SDRAM Display Controller

The S1D13515 is a highly integrated LCD controller targeted at embedded markets. It advances on the successes of other Epson LCD controllers by embedding a proprietary 32-bit RISC CPU and associated accelerator blocks to achieve an increase in flexibility and functionality. Routines are provided allowing for audio playback, 2D BitBLT operations, warp and filtering operations, and the ability to offer OpenGL-ES 1.1 support. In particular, the Warp Logic functions make this an ideal solution for the automotive heads-up display (HUD) market, or pseudo 3D navigation displays.

The S1D13515 is an affordable, low power device which uses a flexible external SDRAM memory interface to provide its frame buffer. It supports a wide variety of CPU interfaces and LCD panel outputs which makes it an excellent choice for instrumentation or center cluster applications.

SVGA External SDRAM LCD Controller

The S1D13517 is a SVGA color LCD graphics controller which uses an external SDRAM display buffer. The S1D13517 supports an 8/16-bit indirect host interface while providing high performance bandwidth to external SDRAM, allowing for fast screen updates.

The S1D13517 supports displays up to 960x540 (QHD) @ 24 bpp or 800x600 (SVGA)@24bpp, controlling a main window and up to two picture-in-picture windows. Additionally, the S1D13517 incorporates a 2D graphics engine with alpha blending capability. It uses a double-buffer architecture to prevent any visual tearing during streaming video screen updates.

S1D13700

Graphics LCD Controller w/ CGROM

The S1D13700 embedded memory graphics LCD controller can display both text and graphics on an LCD panel. The S1D13700 allows layered text and graphics, scrolling of the display in any direction, and partitioning of the display into multiple screens. It includes 32 KB of embedded SRAM display memory which is used to store text, character codes, and bit-mapped graphics. The S1D13700 handles display controller functions including: transferring data from the controlling microprocessor to the buffer memory, reading memory data, converting data to display pixels, and generating timing signals for the LCD panel.

The S1D13700 is designed with an internal character generator which supports 160, 5x7 pixel characters in internal mask ROM (CGROM) and 64, 8x8 pixel characters in character generator RAM (CGRAM). When the CGROM is not used, up to 256, 8x16 pixel characters are supported in CGRAM.

Designed as a functional replacement to the SED1335, the S1D13700 has an expanded feature set which includes; direct support of the Motorola MC68K microprocessor family, embedded display buffer, increased clock speeds, increased grayscale depths, lower power technology and smaller packages.

The S1D13748 is a low cost, low power WVGA LCD Controller providing TFT panel support for embedded products requiring up to WVGA resolution. Supporting up to three display layers, the S1D13748 provides the host processor with flexibility in handling multiple image sources. Its ability to receive high speed host writes, combined with its support for a wide variety of LCD panels, makes the S1D13748 an excellent choice for a multitude of LCD applications.

The S1D13748 includes a pixel doubling feature which allows easy migration to larger panel sizes using existing image data. The S1D13U11 is a SVGA USB interface LCD controller with an external SDRAM interface. The external SDRAM interface allows for support of a variety of memory sizes for the display buffer.
